I changed from a 3400+ to a 3700+, and changed RAM from 3gb to 2gb in order to save money for better processor. 10$ more than when I had the 3400+.

Id have to say 3 Gb of ram is way too much.

I agree. Too much RAM can reduce your system performance as the data has that much more memory to pass through before it can be delivered to your processor.

I have a few newb questions to ask.

1: On some motherboards, next to where you plug in the power supply is another 4 pins, what are these and if I buy a mobo with these do I need to use them?

2: If I order a motherboard on NewEgg that is refurbished, and according to their policy I will not recieve "accesories", does the back panel/plate count as an accessory?

    I can't work I have discovered, after working 4 days. This is because my father's company has insurance that doesn't cover people under 16. ****. I made $240, I already ordered a motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16813152043, 512mb DDR400 ram, and a processor: http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16819104214. I couldn't any afford more.
I am in desperate need for a hard drive and a video card. If any of you are willing to give away a 10gb+ hard drive or a decent AGP 4X/8X video card, please alert me. I am on a 4gb hard drive, and I will have to use it if I don't get another.

This thread brings back memories of spending 2-3 grand every 2-3 months to build a new pc with all the latest features like uv reactive pci slots, ram with activity LEDs, and a couple 76gb wd raptors in raid 0, just to have bragging rights on the internets.
