The enthusiasm will be short lived. Your leisure time will dramatically decrease during the transition from General Education credits to working on your major. Then, when you graduate, say goodbye to frat parties and keggers almost entirely. Even if you decide to keep going towards a Master's or Doctorate of some type (M.D., PsyD., PhD., etc) let me assure you that graduate school is NOT the same. You will spend most of your time as a slave doing some tenured professor's mundane chores.

So, the moral is, ENJOY IT WHILE IT LASTS.

    Off-topic: What college, anyway?

Do you have a car (If "No," than your mission was to find someone who does on your floor and make friends with them ASAP)? Do you live in the dorms? Do you have friends? Do you know how to properly manage your study time? If you answered "No" to any one of those questions that would explain it. Don't waste your time going to any lectures. Make friends with one of the losers who does go and provide them with a tape recorder so they can record it for you, if you haven't already made friends with someone who records that instructor's lectures already. Managing your time for college is not like managing your time for high school. I highly recommend taking Psych electives as well. Learning how to anticipate how your professors think will translate to better test preparedness and better grades without increasing the time which you study, simply by anticipating what material the instructor places the most importance on. Also, syllabus' are your friends.

Edit: Additionally, if you are isolated enough to not be asked to participate in any extracurricular organizations (fraternities, sororities, student government, chess club, etc) within the first six weeks, you might as well pack it in right then and there.

Not really. Community colleges have lots of reasons why they aren't as exciting. However, the top two are: No dorms (or on campus housing of any kind), and vastly higher number of older adults (30+) looking to continue their education in order to adapt to the labor market. Would you go to a kegger your mother was attending?

Are you on scholarship? That's the only situation where I can see them able to justify forcing you to attend lectures. If your parents are paying your way (or even more so if you are paying your own way through your own effort) I would make a case to your Dean about forcing the instructor to allow you to record the lectures and not attend. Generally, always go above the instructor's head with decisions that they are likely to make based on their own personal bias (they dislike lecturing to a hall full of tape recorders, despite the convenience). Plus, administrative staff are always looking for opportunities to show faculty the power they have over them. Additionally, money talks - assuming you aren't dependent on financial aid to attend, simply threaten or have your parents threaten to take the money putting you through to another institution "where responsible students that do not require hand holding are more appreciated." (That's the exact same line I gave my Dean that forced him to give in to my similar demands). If you make a good enough argument, they will acquiesce to your requests.

Do you have your own place off campus? Please don't tell me you are living with relatives, or even worse, your parents. You will never get laid if the only place you have to bring a girl back to is your parent's place.

partying is silly, make use of school resources and use them for your own personal projects. Thats what i do anyways.

also, russian composers are awesome, great music for working.

Dyn you underestimate the fail that is Boise State University, and pretty much Boise colleges in general. You have to go to ISU or University of Idaho (which are in totally different parts of the state) if you want to party a lot. There are tons of old people at BSU too. This state sucks.

Yeah I am learning that a community college is not a whole lot of fun :(. Maybe I will transfer to a university.
