Nvidia Geforce 8800 GT, quad core

When playing 3D games,
BSOD The device driver got stuck in an infinite loop. This usually indicates problem with the device itself or with the device driver programming the hardware incorrectly.
***stop 0x000000EA (0x8885asa8, 0x8889E578, 0xF78C6CBC, 0x00000001)

This has been happening after the system recovered from a severe error. After playing a 3D game online, encountered graphically errors. (colors corrupt flashing)

Installed latest drivers, rolled back to previous drivers, uninstalled drivers and video card. Updated BIOS, etc.

Thinking its a issue with the driver file nv4_disp which seems to be corrupt and cannot be fixed.

Some one else said to disable enhanced chip performance and enable fast writes but I can't find those.

Ideas? Any one encountered this before or know how to fix it?

I agree with Nick. I had the same problem with an 8600 GT. It's why I buy ATI now :P

Known in short as nVidia. That's what you get.
