TblPad gives you the control to change almost any string in SC. Unit names, ranks, and even the words of their attacks and spells.

Step 1: What does it do?
Changes unit and building's names and spell/attack names.

Step 2.1: Getting the tbl file...
1. The tbl file is located in Stardat.mpq, Broodat.mpq, and patch_rt.mpq. We're going to want the most recent one, so lets open up partch_rt.mpq in WinMPQ. When WinMPQ opens and you have patch_rt open, scroll down until you find the 'rez' section. Keep going until you find 'rez/stat_txt.tbl' There is 6 of them, we want the first one (That's the english one) and extract it to the desktop.

Step 2.2: Opening the tbl file...
1. Now that we have it, lets open TblPad.

2. When Tbl opens, select file>open, and find the location of it and open it.

3. Now we get to edit! The easiest way to do this is to search because there is a LOT of strings. But since we're just getting the basic knowledge down, we're going to use the Marine as an example. So, click 'Terran Marine<0>*<0>Ground Units<0>' (It should be the first one).

So now that we have it selected, we can change it! I'm going to change mine to 'Terran Bounty Hunter'. We want to make sure to not change the string's parameters (<0> & *) The <0> defines a break in the text ('Enter') and the * defines the start of a new string.

Make sure you also get the string for the Terran Barracks. You can get it by searching for 'Train' (Do only 'Train' because the hot key will will through it off)

I also forgot to mention before about the colors. They are defined for you in the box below the edit box. All you have to do is insert the number to change the color, m<1>Train <3>B<1>ounty Hunter<0>, <1> is light blue, <3> is yellow, and <1> it to redefine the blue. It will come out like this:

Train Bounty Hunter

And be sure to change the 'm' at the beginning so that our new unit will have the right hot key.

4. Now put it in to a custom .mpq archive with WinMPQ (http://www.bwhacks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24125) and load it with MPQDraft (http://www.bwhacks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24126)!
