View Full Version : Ethics in hacking?

I was just wondering whether or not you people follow certain ethics when hacking. For example, I've read that you only should drop hack laggers. Anything else?

That is incorrect, it is not a hacking ethic, it's just common courtesy, think of how you'd like it ;)

Using a hack takes away your ethnic. Then when your using it; it is a totally different case.

"Using a hack takes away your ethnic."
lol, I think you mean ethics. I don't see how hacks have anything to do with the color of your skin.

I don't think ethics and hacks go in the same sentence somehow. Using hacks provides you with an advantage over players who don't use hacks. However, I think you can classify a hack by how much of an advantage you have. For example, I think a map-hack is an extreme advantage, and pretty much unfair. Meanwhile, an in-game timer is just convenient. Everyone has their own opinion though too, so as far as ethics are concerned, there really aren?t any.

I guess you're right. How about this... can hackers be good mannered, or as that contradiction?

06-18-2004, 08:11 PM
what do you mean?

06-18-2004, 08:14 PM
It all depends on the person.. someone whos not hacking can be bad-mannered, but a hacker who can pretty much do as he pleases is more apt towards doing w/e the hell they feel like, which they are doing anyways by hacking.

If I could drop people Id drop the laggers.. they ruin my fun >_<

Ethics in Hacking...sounds like an oxymoron. But to quote dt
It depends on your intentions.

At first, i thought, f***ing Duh dt, but I gave hims the benefit of the doubt, along wit TheTempest. That's realy all that matters. Overflow could cheat like a little b**ch, cause he has the skills, but what would be the point. He and many others just cheat for the enjoyment--pure and simple. And to explore the possibilities.

If a hacker hacks all alone, does it matter?
Hell no. If someone hacks me, then good for them. I just hope they enjoyed themselves.
