I have always used dvd2xbox to copy games to the hard drive. I've rarely ever had problems, and it comes with all sorts of generic protection patches. Its very simple to use: just run it, tell it where you want the games ripped to, pop the disc in, and hit copy. If I remember correctly, I have mine configured to rip games to F:\games.

Also, I've used a program called "Extract xIso" to unpack/pack xiso's I obtained through bittorrent.

How new are you to the whole modding scene? Have you replaced your dashboard yet?

If you want a good resource for this type of stuff, check out http://www.xbox-scene.com , they have a great tutorials section that explains all sorts of things. They also provide information about the software that's out there, however they can't directly link to any that were created with the XDK.

Alcohol 120% or DVD Decrypter are the best.

I've always used Magic DVD Ripper, works on EVERYTHING! But that's just for movies...

Ok first of all, you're all stupid with the exception of arpsmack. dvd2xbox is probably one of the best and easiest xbox drive -> hdd rippers and after that, FlashFXP (which kids ass whenever you deal with anything FTP) for copying the game off the drive, and onto your hdd.

And I better not see anyone suggesting anything about ripping from windows, or I'll have your nuts.

Pretty much everything for xbox is free via "the site that must not be name"

1. Download and install mIRC http://www.mirc.com/get.html , and flashFXP http://www.flashfxp.com.
2. Open mIRC and press Alt+O. Click on Connect. Fill in a name, email, nick, and alternative nick. (The name and email can be anything. Bang the keyboard for the nick, it's guaranteed to work.)
3. While still in the options menu, click on Servers under Connect. Choose the IRC Network, EFnet. Then, choose the IRC Server closest to you (I'm in California, so I picked EFnet: US, CA, San Jose (Blessed)) Click OK.
4. Goto File, and click on Connect. It might take a second, depending on your connection. A bunch of text will fill the window, but soon after another window will come up asking you to Enter a channel name and click join. Type in xbins .
5. Another channel window will come up, and telling you a little bit about xbins. Type /msg xbins !list . Nothing will pop up, but check the top where the channels are, and you will see that a red named channel called xbins has appeared. Click on it, and xbins will have given you a FTP Server, Username, and Password.
6. Open up flashfxp, go to quick connect that has a lightning icon and enter the server, username, and password. Then click connect and you should be in the the xbins server.
7. Goto XBOX, and there you have it

NOTE: You will need to login to xbins everytime you wish to download. If you download over 30 mbs of items, then a 24-48 hour ban will be set, depending on how much you went over.

Well gamepin is right, xbox games are not quite the same as pc games and such. Their iso format is unrecognizable by windows so you need to use your xbox to rip them or use flashfxp by ftping through your xbox, which is still basically using your xbox to rip it.

Everytime I've ever tried to read a xbox game in my dvd rom, it freezes the drive and I have to restart to open it again. I didn't feel like explaining.

Xbox games are going to be encrypted with a different process than other games so thats the main reason why you can't just use windows to a rip a xbox iso.

Ripping them to your computer's inefficient anyways: It's using your computer's hdd space; slower transfer rates than between the xbox and dvd; you're not processing an ACL so you're using more space than you should; and it's just not kewl.

I personally don't have a hacked xbox so I can't say if it is more efficient or not.

Maybe you shouldn't insult people for no reason like some ****ing dick?

What's the point in backing up something that you can't use?

BloodyBlade

I thought I would hack my xbox soon, but it never hapened.

I'll probably go out and get MechAssault, AR, and a mem card with my christmas money.

/sigh you can't mount iso's in the xbox, you'll need to burn it first.

BloodyBlade
12-13-2006, 11:24 PM
And? That doesn't make a difference when I am "backing up" a rented/borrowed game.

Oh, and excuse my "nubness"(as you would so humbly put it) but can't you put ISOs on the xbox and play them without burning it?

Regular XBOX or 360? I have 2 regular modded XBOX... get the Avalaunch dash and Qwix, it's all you'll need. http://www.teamavalaunch.com/qwix/

I dislike avalaunch, UnleashX and XBMC360

Antihaxer
12-14-2006, 01:23 PM
XBMC360 is a really awesome dashboard. It's the only one I have ever used. How do you know if the xbox games you ripped to your computer actually work if you have not tried them in a modded xbox? Because you stated you had no modded xbox so you might of been able to rip them, but they might not work. And no you can not put isos on your xbox without burning them. First you have to extract them out of the iso using quix. Then you may put the folders extracted from the xbox iso onto your xbox. Then they will run properly if the xbox iso was ripped properly.
