you got beryl already, thats pretty badass ;)

mplayer!! <--, with all the win32codecs so you can play ANY movie format on linux
xmms-mplayer plugin is useful too

you can finally run newer flash apps

also you can watch videos with synced audio, for the longest time the version 7 had sync issues

xmms is simpler, kinda like the old winamp

amarok is supposed to have alot more features, like showing you album info and stuff

i use xmms, i play music in the background while doing other things so i could care less how flash amarok is

I've recently started using IceWM, it's much better than Fluxbox.

Better skins and more support.

I like my FB. Besides, I only use Eterm and Firefox 90% of the time anyway so I don't need icons. PS: Eterm vs aterm?

If you're willing to try IceWM, I can give you some really nice skins I custom made.

Eterm vs Aterm: That's mostly a matter of preference. I tried both for a couple hours and to be honest I find them to be superfluous (years of being a windows user has given me resource-phobia). Don't ask me why but hours of skinning my linux distro's my way has gotten me used to opening good ol' xterm, and I'll stick with it. It's not like I use terminal for more than a couple seconds most of the time anyways.

First off, I run FreeBSD.. not like it matters, FreeBSD is just a little faster

Programming:
gcc (duh), nasm, and vi (I love VI :))

Security:
Ettercap, Wireshark, Airsnort, stunnel, nc, vnc (it makes encryped connections), nmap (duh), paketto kiresa suite, hping, and firewalk.

Graphics:
The Gimp

Emulators:
Wine and Dosbox
