I currently own a PNY Nvidia Geforce 7600GT, and I have to say it is an excellent card for the price- about 140 US at the time I am writing this. It does not require the additional PCI-E power cable on PSU's. It also isn't particularily loud. Of course, it cannot compare with the 7900 series, but it is a great mainstream card and has a tremendous performance increase over the similarily priced 7300GS. It will handle games such as Counter Strike Source, and Quake 4, Halo fine at 1280x1024 and high quality.
3dmark 03: ~12800
3dmark 05: ~6000
3dmark 06: ~3000
(Tests are run on an AMD Athlon 64 X2.)

No way, I don't have that much money. If I can get ahold of one, I'll run some benchmarks and then report them.

Gimme one.

I also have this card only made by EVGA.

It overclocks like a dream, and I can sometimes get temperatures down to about 100*F idle. While gaming, due to tremndous overclocking, the temperatures can hit 133*F. But this is also frmo the toll of Oblivion on all high settings.

GET THIS CARD!!

I was talking budget/mainstreme line, SLI and CF and high end cards don't exactly fit there.
As for my Lower-High end pick, I pick the X1950 Pro 512MB, for ~$229.

And Lord Puss the 6800 GS isn't a downclocked 6800 GT, you ****ing retard.
First off, its not even the same core, its a 110nm core and the 6800 gt has a 130nm core.
Second off it has one less Pixel/Vertex shader unit meaning it is 12 pipes and 5 vertex shaders while the 6800 gt is 16 piped and has 6 vertex shaders.
Third off, the 6800gs has a FASTER core clock and memory clock.

In many cases, they perform reletively the same, so KDS, your good.

my version of the card isnt even on there

7900 GTX 512MB DDR3 XXX Edition w/ GPU at 700MHz and and GDDR3 clocked at 1800MHz

but i overclocked both of them even more to 2050MHz and 750MHz

i dont really kno the benchmarks of my 2 cards so who knows maybe 2 of the x1950xtx might be actually be better

An overclocked x1950 XTX beats an overclocked 7900 GTX just like a stock 1950 XTX betas a stock 7900 GTX.
The x1950 can run at 770/2200 overclocked. Stock air w/ software VMODs.

I find the X1900 AiW has TREMENDOUS value. Anyone agree?
