Use Map Settings.

Use Map Settings.
To be more specific for the newb (Hell-Fish):

1.Load up battle.net or single player
2. Select your map from the map selection menu.
3. Go down to "Game type". It will probably be on melee. Click on it and then click on "Use Map Settings".
4. Start the game
5. Viola! Whatever you did will be there.

Have you tryed StarForge (http://www.staredit.net/index.php?download=1525) yet? It's hard to get use to at first, but you'll love it when you figure out all of the features.

Starforge is my absolute favorite map editor, the triggers are easy to use after a while. I'm currently making a long rpg similar to gunship and pirate rpg. Its nice with the terrain though.

Agreed. They are all text-based and difficult to get used to.

I guess we should tell Hell-Fish about teh triggers huh?

In SF the triggers are WAY different. They are used like in ummm Visual Basic I think.

Bring(P1,anyunit,anyware);

the ';' IS VERY IMPORTANT.

Not Visual Basic. No semicolons in VB. ;) Then it's much more like the C flavour of languages (C, C++, Java, C#, etc) all utilizing semicolon to end a statement. StarForge appears to be made in VB6 though, considering it needs VB6 SP5 runtime files. Otherwise it's pretty simple... as long as you memorize all the arguments (not easy imo).

SCMDraft (http://stormcoast-fortress.net/) is a very similar map editor, utilizing a plugin called TrigEdit which is very similar as well (the same?).

Good luck!

I prefer Starforge over SCMDraft, as players 13+ are easier to place in starforge.

Natively, it is.

Yeah, players 13 and over weren't directly programmed into starcraft, so they can cause some strange effects in your map.

yeah if you place player 14 on the map as the very first unit
it makes teh map 4X speed ;D

That was patched lately. If you try to play a map like that in 1.14, your game crashes.
