View Full Version : [Tutorial] Drawing anywhere to the SC screen

07-06-2006, 09:57 PM
Ok, I know not many of you still hack starcraft, but here's a tut a wrote a while ago, it was released at Jakor's site Cyberogue, but the site is dead now and I'm releasing it here =p.

Enjoy, if you have any problems following through , feel free to ask. This is aimed for moderate to advanced hackers, newbs beware...

Note: I wrote this tut a long time before I actually figured everything out. If you're actualy planning on using this and need some clarification on some things, I'd be glad to explain.

Also, using a similar method you can draw icons anywhere on the screen you'd like, I was going to include it in this tutorial but eh.

One final thing: I won't be able to help you with things like "Is this the address you have for x version?", etc, because I no longer have SC installed. I will however be able to help you on the actual procedure and design questions, etc.

The tutorial is too long to paste in the thread, so it's attached ='(.

Dude, you totally missed the tutorial section. It's a subforum in here.

This is the real deal guys, this is how I did all my screen printing stuffs. So props to Yonder.

Now this is sexy. Also, If I'm not mistaken, you can also use DirectDraw to do the similar thing... right?

07-07-2006, 07:52 AM
SC has it's own DDraw fxn's already, just use those.

Lub the tut Yonder.

SCM, I didn't have permission to create a thread in the tutorial section.

Are you high on something tempest?

The attachment is missing. Can anyone upload it or explain how to do this in C++? Are there simply two functions in SC that I can use to write text and draw an icon on the screen, or would I have to manually do it? If the first, does anyone have the offsets for 1.15.1-1.15.3 and a list of their paramaters? Thanks!

I hope the author of this tutorial doesn't mind it but here is my copy. I believe it was only the txt file.

03-12-2010, 09:02 AM
Thanks zack, but that doesn't seem to work either! Are attachments just broken in general?

03-14-2010, 10:06 AM
More then likely old files like this were lost for the time being in the update. Luckily many people store these such files around.

Literally <10 seconds to find this on google.

Thanks gamepin!

FYI, googling "yonderknight screen drawing tutorial" (w/out quotes) only found this thread and no file, which is why I asked. Just tried "yonderknight starcraft" and that did find it, oops!
