if you are given a mass and i think a change of temperature, does anyone know the formula to get the heat(Joules)?

you also need a specific heat.

q = sp. heat * mass * change in T

I think heat is measured in calories, joules are for energy. (I'm not exactly sure, so check)

You obviously don't pay very much attention in class. There is a direct correlation between J and calories.
