This is the second time this has happend. My Book marked web pages have been deleted. I'm wondering if something in my preferences have done this. I'm tired of going through all the pages and book marking them again. can someone tell me whats up?

It used to auto-delete mine at one point, and then I reinstalled it and it was fine.

most likely, for some reasion .. the bookmark.html file was bad and firefox created a new one for you .... I've been using firefox for over a year ... never have lost a thing ....

I don't use a preloader, or any 3rd party themes (had a profile go south due to a bad theme) and I make sure that I backup my profiles (use bookmark backup and mozbackup)

Read: Guide: Lost My Bookmarks ... now what??
http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=1250164#1250164

. INSTALL the Bookmark Backup 0.33 extension which does a automatic daily backup of all 13 user files when you exit firefox correctly .... this gives you seven different copies of each user file before overwriting one ..... it won't help with a bad profile ... but you will never loose your bookmarks ... To add other files (default is only bookmarks.html) to the backup .... highlight the extension in the extension manager (tools -> extensions) and press the option icon .... you can store the backup any place you like ...
