i guess, i want a fourth race, but i guess its too much work for them, if they added a new race, the whole game would have to be REbalanced..i guess they are lazy. But hey SC2 looks not bad
Poll: Do you want a fourth race in SCII? I was disappointed with the announcement of only three races. Whether the game ends up being decent is beside the point. They knew, without a doubt, that we wanted another race. I find it a little insulting.

Who wouldn't expect a new race:\
wtf is blizzard thinking-.-
other than that.. game looks pretty sweet
Actualy, I hate the thought of another race. It would make the game a little more confusing than it already will be, plus what would it be? We have aliens (zerg), humans (terran), and a high-tech civilization (protoss). Tell me, instead of complaining about the fact that there are only 3 races, explain what a 4th one might be.
A more sinister race (futuristic medieval - a lot of the color black in the buildings... essentially sleek like protoss but with very dark-looking human-like units.) Or a hybrid race between protoss and terran. Or a hybrid race between Terran and Zerg. Or a hybrid race between Protoss and Zerg. Or a sort of ghostly shape shifting race with weird playing dynamics like movable fog patches and etc. Or a race which needs to consume a certain amount of units or it dies. Or the Xel 'Naga. Or...
That is six or seven that I would be happy with off the top of my head. Out of many, many possibilities.

LOL
First of all, there would be no cross-breeding for any of the three races... That would be too unbalancing...
That includes the 'A more sinister race (futuristic medieval - a lot of the color black in the buildings... essentially sleek like protoss but with very dark-looking human-like units.'
Lets see... A ghostly shape-shifting race would be probably like the zerg, but if you can name 20+ buildings and 20+units and 20+ upgrades, then it might be something to possibly think about -- but it would still be a lot like either the protoss or terran. Xel'Naga are a lot like the protoss. 'A race which needs to consume a certain amount of units or it dies' is out of the question...

warcraft did it with the transition from warcraft 2 to warcraft 3

Oh yeah, i forgot about that..
If you want to have 4 races, play WC3... the high-tech stuff has less options when it comes to races; the only thing i can think of that would be a possible new race would be elves or something, and even then, it would be cross-breed between terran and protoss... and that would never happen...
I don't know, a 4th race would make things a lot more complicated and bring forth the need for more strategies. I'm not sure if that's good or bad.
I think it would be overdoing it, though.
a super race of gorillas would be either not as powerful, the same as, or more powerful than the zerg, which would unbalance the game.
The Xel'Naga are a) extinct and b) the protoss ancestors, which would make them more powerful, thus making them unbalance the game...
It never says they are extinct, simply that they "left."
I want a race of exploding penguins. That would be swwwwwwwwwweeet.
No monkey's that can jump and stuff are ownage. Gorrilla Warfare! heh I laugh.
1) if you have read the books, a 4th race would not make any sense (also if you follow the games storyline) and also the books describe how truly sinister the zerg actually are, they are by far the most sinister race, even if another race was added.
2)If you find blizzard not fitting your needs, find another gaming company. Blizzard has flourished at everything they have done. Who are you to tell them how to run/create a game?
3)secret level at the end of original starcraft: BW, where there is an experimental hybrid zerg/toss, so dont let anything like that throw you for a loop.
ScAreCroW
lol. No they aren't. One makes your dvd played grow legs and rape childern. The other plays dvds. Which one is which? I will never divuldge the secret.

ston3rpimp69: my mother told me id have my own personal ball-washer some day. im glad all that hard work paid off.
Thanks to everyone who has participated in the poll so far.
Of course I can not disagree with that statement.
I don't really care if they are extinct, but I'm pretty sure they're not anyway. Honestly, I just want a new race to play. And you have to get over this idea that something could be too powerful and unbalance the game... if that is the case, they are free to make it slightly less powerful or slightly more expensive, and go from there. It's what they've always done. The Xel'Naga are a) extinct and b) the protoss ancestors, which would make them more powerful, thus making them unbalance the game...
Huh?
If they can balance what they have, they should be able to balance a race which combines various units from two races and adds a couple of new ones.
Again, I don't see why you think they can't balance a new race. They can, it's what they do.
Why do you picture zerg when I describe a ghostly shape shifting race with weird dynamics like being able to move fog around on the map like a unit? This is not dark swarm I am describing and I don't see anything even remotely similar to zerg in my head right now. I am seeing bright flashes and pale transparencies, and large ghostly shapes materializing down into demonic little bipeds that bleed. I am seeing fire and ice, my friend. And it is good.
I don't mind, they're different enough to be enjoyable to me as a new playable race.
Eh. I disagree. Why couldn't they introduce a new race that played really weird. Where units sort of shift in and out of the mist and you interact with the mist itself, or units go around spawning new units that answer to them and which you do not control, or a race where you can manipulate fog and wind in dramatic ways but the race is laughably weak in other ways. One poster even mentioned a gorilla-like race. That is doable. Blizzard can make whatever the **** they want. It's a question of whether they are going to give us a new race to play with... not whether they can.
I guess I should change the word "sinister" to the phrase "sinister looking". My point is that there is room for another race which looks evil on screen and which is not insectoid...
That would be awesome.
I haven't told them how to run/create their game. I only posted a poll asking for opinions, and started by giving mine.
I actually think it would be nice to have a new race. Me personaly would LOVE to come up with new strats and have something different to play than the boring ass terran zerg and toss (all of which suck really if you ask me XD)
Once you go white, a trailers in sight.
Once you go black, you want your dignity back.
Sorry to the affended
