Game Hacking
Lesson One
Background:
Well most of us have read Drakkens tutorials on game hacking. They have been very helpful for us all. However, as helpful as they are I want to show you all another way to game hack. I have been seeing an increasing amount of people asking for tutorials and well I guess here?s one. I mean no offense to Drakken by writing this tutorial. Thanks for the original!
Why:
You may want to know why I wrote this tutorial. I wrote it to show you all another way to game hack, one that you will use allot more beileve me when I say I know what I?m doing I?ve been hacking since early 1.10 of Starcraft Broodwar.
Tools:
-You will need a memory finder. Such as Artmoney (www.artmoney.ru) or Tsearch (www.fly.to/mtc), I use these two. Others include Gamehack, Dhack, Winhack, Tinkle Bell etc. You may find them at www.Gamehacking.com
-You will also need a compiler. You can learn Visual Basic, which will take time and is unnecessary. I suggest you learn ASM or just use Trainer Maker Kit. An alterative to TMK is Game Trainer Studio it far surpasses TMK for many reasons. You not only can use poke codes but can also use ASM or Injections. You will learn about injections later.
Lets Begin:
-Start up Starcraft.
-Go to Single Player. Make a custom game and go to challenger (or any map).
-Hit F10 and then alt+tab out of Starcraft
-Open up your mem finder & select ?starcraft.exe? or ?Brood War.exe? as your process. In ArtMoney There should be a drop down menu in the middle of the window. In tsearch click the search button and then click the Starcraft icon.
-If in Tsearch hit the ?magnifying glass? or in artmoney hit ?search? Then search for Unknown Value (its in the drop down menu)
-Go back to SC and change your mineral value. By gathering minerals. Once your SCV/Probe/Drone has delivered the minerals Hit F10 and minimize SC again.
-In Artmoney hit ?filter? or in tsearch it the ?magnifying glass? with the ?...? after it. There search for has ?Increased Value?
-We still need to narrow down. So repeat the last step until you have 5 or so offsets left. If you found the correct offset it will tell you how many minerals you have and will change along with them (Note: There will be several edit each of them ONE AT A TIME and see if your minerals change if they do you found the right offset)
-Once you?ve found the offset edit the value to 99,999 and go back to SC. If its changed you have made a working mineral hack. YAY!!
-If the value is Poke 4FD4A4 9F 86 01 00 (for sc 1.11b) then you have just made your first step towards being a 1337 Gamehacker!
FAQ:
Here are some frequently asked Questions
Q: What?s byte, word, and dword?
A: They are the values of your offsets
Byte - one byte - value between 0-255
Word - two bytes - value between 0-65535
Dword - four bytes - value between 0-4294967295
Q: What?s a an offset?
A: Its where the game stores data.
Q: Why did the value change?
A: Dynamic Memory. You can defeat this by going deeper into the game and edit the Game Code itself. I will teach you how in the next lesson.
Q: Will this method only work for SC?
A: Nope it will work for ANY game.
FYI:
The 9F 86 01 00 part of the code is your new value (99,999) in hex! You should learn your hex because it will help you dramaticaly on your quest to gamehacking.
Compiling:
For all you beginners out there first play open up TMK make a new button and write click on it and go to write process CTRL+V Poke 4FD4A4 9F 86 01 00 set your minerals to 99,999 or put 4FDA4 into a edit and manually edit them.
Conclusion:
I have taught you how to make a Mineral Hack you can now use this method to edit gas, and many other things such as gas. You may also edit ammo, health, mana, HP, MP or whatever you wish! To further increase your knowledge read my next tutorial on defeating DMA. And While your learning read up on ASM and if you wish c++ or vb. Personally I would use ASM like all the 1337 Hackers or just use VB or C++ to make awesome GUIs!

He was a gigantic newb who claimed to know a lot more than he really did, and I believe was one of the select few that claimed to have made an online mineral hack. Anyway, in reading this tutorial it is apparent that his skills have increased no further, but he has lost the tendency to act like a moron.

bim gave me all his codes in a tmk file and i claimed them as my own, and nickolay accused me of being archn because i hosted his drop hack only its realy yours even though im not and i admit the whole mineral hack thing isn't gonna work online i was a newb last october i believe? and how have my skills not increased?

The utter lack of explaining anything. Your tutorial is just a step by step, this is how you do this exact task, steamer. The readmes for Artmoney and TMK contain more information than that.
Also, the statement that learning VB is "unneccesary" and suggesting that TMK be used. TMK is just a crutch for those too stupid to do any real hacking. VB is better, but creates bloated files with horrid dependancies. ASM and C++ are the best solutions.

i tried to write it a bit faster than i should of... all the info is there but i will make an edit of it more in depth and i said vb is unceccasary because of ASM which is a big part of gamehacking. but honestly tho do u have to flame me? are we all little kids still? like ur sig says cant we just get along

what do you want me to do? this is what i've always wanted to do and this is what im going to work for no matter who steps in my way im not a little kid anymore i've grown up physacly and emotionaly and i guess you guys just dont respect that (there is one thing i still cant do...spell) well at least dt sees some change
