How many people cannot make games? It angers you dosn't it? It used to be the same case for me. Like lets say you have been playing a long time on Dial-Up and suddenly you got cable and now you can't make games anymore. If you want to fix this problem I have the answer however I am only answering for people with routers such as wireless. Usually cased like the wireless adapter is hard to do.
1) Hook a computer straight to the wireless router through one of the back ports. For me I had to use Ethernet cables but it could also have USB ports.
2) If you look in the readme files of your router program it should say router config. Look around. It took me a while to figure it out.
3) Configure Gaming Ports and turn off the router firewall.
The reason you have to directly hook the computer to the wireless router is becuase it is the only way to configure the main router. Otherwise people could intercept it (neighbors maybe) and could mess with your configuration.

Adelphia Users Linksys Wireless Routers
1) Hook a comp directly to the Main Wireless Router.
2)Look in the readme files for and IP adress then take the adress and enter it to the URL bar.
3)The Password for my router was admin and yours probably will be too. You dont need a user name just type admin into the password section.
4)From the configuration screen click on the Security and turn off the fire wall. Then go to Applications and Gaming. From there select DMZ.
5) Find YOUR computer IP adress. You can find it on AIM ( just select insert and IP) Then say Enable. This will allow all ports to go to your computer which is important to playing games.
Directions may be a little confusing ;)
Looking Around and i got my ass kicked in Directions.... These are much better apparently MUCH MUCH better then mine lol....
