The Serious Discussion board harbors moderation style to cater to the people who wanted a complete safe haven from all the random off-topic, or useless posts, Flame board is more or less a board specifically for all that, and Gen chat is somewhere in between.
Moderation and rules are different for each, so the site as a whole is pretty diverse.
