I always wanted to get an iPhone but AT&T plans are just insane how do they expect a every day joe to afford them, now if the iPhone moved to T-mobile or Verizon I would be happy.

Over here its O2 who has iPhones, and for £35 you get 8GB for free and 600 mins, 500 texts and unlimited data/wi-fi in the whole of UK

Its pretty easy to use one on Tmo, and cheaper than AT&T. $6 for internet instead of $20

Well its not that expensive,because my contracts is being renewed when it comes out so I might be able to get it.But you can't say that the Iphone isn't cool,can you.

Its cool but you don't say OMG COOL! when somebody hacks into it and posts all your private pictures on 4chan (several celebrities have had their iPhones hacked into for the juicy stuff FYI). Apple is terrible when it comes to security and i don't think thats going to improve any time soon.

Somebody needs to make a decent open linux phone (ie not android/locked down too much) to compete with the ZunePhone and the iPhone.

Well you dont have to take nudez with the iPhone, but it can store photos so you can view them.

People can hack into then Iphone?If if their security sucks then why do they keep patching the jailbreaks.

Ive had an iphone ever since it came out and ive been paying from 60-80 for it. For the stock its 30 a month and i buy unlimited internet and txt for another 20 ontop of that, so i dont know how for supposed to be 50 i pay additional 30 somtimes. Anyway yeah i got the email from apple a week ago about the new phone and I pre ordered it because I still have the orig one and Im psyched that its a videocamera now and you can send multimedia now. Thats what I wish the orig had and I would have never bought a new phone till that one kicked the can.

I took a peak at the source code of the Palm Pre (yes its open source/linux so you can request the source) and lets just say its pretty basic and it looks pretty weak but I am figuring if you give them time they will fix a lot of it.

On topic:

Dual Core (and soon after triple and quad core) ARM cpus are coming out very soon, will probably make it to market Q1-Q2 2010. iPhone is ARM powered so I am going to assume that Apple will release a new dual/triple/quad core powered iPhone asap. A multicore is infinitely better than the ****ty bump that is the 3gs... As it stands the only smartphone that still can't natively multitask is the iPhone (multitasking on their OS still has tons of issues)... when the dual/triple/quad core comes out you can be sure they will finally allow multitasking. Whats sort of amusing about the new ARM architecture coming out (Cortex-A9) is the new cpus will actually consume less power than the current 65nm ones (even the quads).

If you are smart you won't bother with the 3GS....

Also... Congress has now pressured the FCC to analyze exclusive wireless contracts to see if they are anti-competitive and theres a decent chance ATT's iPhone contract will be dissolved and the practice will be made illegal.
