The problem is that we were on the road to ruin before the war, and the economy didn't start going bad until after we were well into the war.

I firmly believe that the government putting forth anti-terrorism as the reason for this war was ludicrous. The follow up reason, "weapons of mass destruction," also has a stench of bull****. The last few years just astound me.
The conspiracy theories and whatever else have you, are shots in the dark. Because of that, they're a discredit to themselves. However, I don't think it's unreasonable to be skeptical about the motives of the government over the coarse of Bush's presidency.
